Got Jesus?
Why would a person want to know Jesus? Here are a few ideas: They want to go to heaven. They want to avoid hell! They are searching to fill the void in their life. They have heard about Jesus many times but have never made a commitment to Him. They want to fulfill God's purpose for their life. They need help. These are a few answers to the "Got Jesus?" question.
As a church, we believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important aspect of a person's life. It is not how much money you make, where you live, what you job is, the amount of material things you have, or what church you attend. We desire that you come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." John 3:16 says it this way: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. The Bible also says, in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me. Our desire is to point people to Jesus Christ at the Little Snake River Community Church. If you are searching for Jesus please read through the verses below and pray the prayer that has been printed for you. You can then say, "I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior!"
How To Get Jesus
The verses below describe how to receive Jesus. Each verse builds on the one before. Verse #1 speaks of our need for a Savior because we all are sinners. Verse #2 says that since we are sinners, we can't meet God's standard. In verse #3, we find that sin entered the world through Adam and physical and spiritual death is a consequence of that sin. Verse #4 says the price for sin is death, but Jesus gives us the free gift of eternal life. In verse #5, God tells us He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for us so that we might have eternal life. In verse #6, we need to say, (confess, pray) with our mouth that we are a sinner and believe in our heart that God raised His son Jesus from the dead. We receive eternal life if, and when, we do this.
#1. Romans 3:10---as it is written, there is none righteous, not even one.
#2. Romans 3:23---For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
#3. Romans 5:12---Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread
to all men, because all sinned.
#4. Romans 6:23---For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
#5. Romans 5:8---But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Chris died for us.
#6. Romans 10:9-10---that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth
he confesses, resulting in salvation.
If you believe this, and know in your heart that you want to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please pray the following prayer out loud to God.
DEAR JESUS, I KNOW THAT I AM A SINNER.
I CONFESS MY SIN TO YOU AND ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ME FOR THAT SIN.
I BELIEVE THAT YOU DIED AND ROSE AGAIN FOR ME.
I ASK YOU TO COME INTO MY LIFE.
I NEED YOUR GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION EACH DAY OF MY LIFE.
SO I AM ASKING YOU TO LEAD ME.
THANK YOU FOR DYING ON THE CROSS FOR MY SIN.
AMEN
