--“Meet
our newest Missionary—Melissa Russell. We support Melissa monthly and she uses
Baggs as her base of Operations. Check out her website and music at
http://www.all2himmusic.com. God has called
Melissa to “Take the Mission Field to the Mission Field.” Below is a something
that she has written about her journey.
Over the past year, God has been birthing something new within me. As I have sought to understand and seek the Lord for direction, He told me to Go to the land that He would show me. For months, I struggled with trying to figure out a plan of how to get to where God wanted me to go. Then it hit me, go did not tell me to get a plan together but to Go! |
I started moving forward with the opportunities that were before me, trusting that He would put the vehicles needed in front of me to accomplish the vision that He had given me to take the Mission Field to the Mission Field. Just as Jesus called to disciples to follow Him, so have I been called by the Lord. And just as the disciples were sent out in Matthew 10, so am I being sent by the Lord. As I have begun to walk in faith on this journey, God too has been faithful to keep His promises to me.As I laid down the planning of how to make things happen, the Lord led me to the small town of Baggs, Wyoming to talk with a church there about an opportunity for employment. However, God had another agenda there for me. At the beginning of October 2006, God made it clear to me that the vehicle that He would use would be the Snake River Community Church in Baggs, Wyoming. The church board voted unanimously for me to come under their covering and be sent out as a full-time missionary. The church has committed and agreed to support me on a regular basis, to provide covering and accountability for me, to contribute to my monthly support raising, and to allow other financial support to come through their accounting office.I know that the journey ahead will be one filled with watching the Lord do great things. I am confident without a shadow of doubt that Baggs is the vehicle that God has set in place for me to accomplish the vision He has given me "to take the mission field to the mission field." Lives will continue to be changed; church bodies will be impacted; individuals will have the opportunity to experience the hope, love and un-ending mercy of Jesus Christ.
